Come As You Are

Just random thoughts, things I think are funny or things that make me angry. For whoever cares to read it.

Location: Lloydminster, Saskatchewan, Canada

Statisically single but in a long term relationship with a really great guy. Still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up, so I'm just working to pay the bills right now. Grew up on the farm small town style, and I wouldn't trade it for anything. Lloydminster bugs me.

    Car Shopping

I think the time has fianlly arrived.....the "Punkmobile" is going into retirement :(. Those who know me know what car I'm talking about, for those who don't, I'm talking about my boyfriend's '85 Oldsmobile., yeah yeah go ahead laugh :P. It really has been a good old car, comfy to travel in, not bad on gas, and didn't cost us anything, not until recently anyway. The last year or so hasn't been a good one for the old girl, things just keep breaking, and it costs a lot to keep fixing it. It would still be a pretty decent car, but not for everyday driving, it's just getting too old for that. This last month was especially bad, we were left on the side of the road twice!! And according to Don that was the first time in the cars history that had ever happened. After the first time, we thought, ok it might be time to start to think about a newer car. After the second time we thought, ok, no more thinking, we need to get another car! So we fixed it for now, but the search for new car is on for sure. I feel bad for Don, he really loves his old car, it's easy to understand how he's attached to it, he's had it since he was 16, probably a lot of good memories. However, the car won't be gone for good, we're just going to park it at his parents' for them to use as an extra, so Don can go visit it anytime the wants and maybe even take it for a cruise for old times sake :).

I'm not sure what we're really looking for in a new car, probably something from 2002/2003, that way all the bugs are worked out, yet it's still a new car. Brand new is out of the question, as soon as you drive that sucker off the lot you lose 30% of it's value. (or something like that) And yes we do realize that this new car will still cost money, but at least it'll be reliable, and maybe even still have some warranty on it too. We'll probably head up to the city next week end and see what we can find. Our biggest challenge is finding something that Don can fit his 6'5" frame into, lol. I think the only specifics I'm looking for are, no white cars, cuz white sucks, and no silver, because EVERYONE has a silver car, it'd take me forever to find it in a parking lot, haha. I know that I probably won't have much choice in the color especially since we're not buying brand new, but one can hope to luck out I guess. But basically we're looking for something reliable, good on gas, and fairly roomy inside. Any suggestions are welcome and appreciated. Wish me luck! I'll post a pic when we get one.
