Come As You Are

Just random thoughts, things I think are funny or things that make me angry. For whoever cares to read it.

Location: Lloydminster, Saskatchewan, Canada

Statisically single but in a long term relationship with a really great guy. Still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up, so I'm just working to pay the bills right now. Grew up on the farm small town style, and I wouldn't trade it for anything. Lloydminster bugs me.

Family Gatherings : A Thing of the Past?

We all knew it was coming as soon as some of us started getting married off and such, but I still find myself a bit diappointed when a holiday rolls around and we don't have the big suppers anymore. It's totally understandable though, People have in-laws and extended families to spend time with too. It used to be inevitable that our whole family would get together at every holiday, then it was twice a year, now we're lucky if it's once a year :(. Our gatherings are loud, busy, filling and they drive a person nuts, but enjoyable all the same. It would be nice to propose an alternate holiday, just for getting the family together, seeing as the traditional holidays are getting too booked up for every one now. A long week end once a year where we all get together in Luseland for supper and such. Maybe it's a lame idea, but it would just be nice to know we are all going to get together at least once a year. BTW - Turkey dinners rule!!!!
